Sandy: Last night we went to the City to see Next to Normal, produced by, The Custom Made Theatre Co., a small theater group. The acting was superb and the singing was exemplary. Having never heard of this Company, we were quite impressed and delighted to have discovered them thanks to Goldstar. Pre-children we were Magic Theater season ticket holders. It was a launching pad for a few actors we later saw in film – Ed Harris, Kathy Baker and Sam Shepard (who wrote plays of which we were lucky enough to see their debuts – True West, Buried Child, Fool for Love). Nothing compares to the intimacy of a small theater. As the actors’ energy increases, it starts going through the audience until you feel like you are experiencing their emotions. Nothing like being completely absorbed.
