Day 334 : bulgari

334bulgari

Sandy: The Bulgari exhibit at the de Young Museum has quite a collection of magnificent jewelry made between 1950 and 1980s. Though some settings were garish, many of the jewels were stunning and one has to appreciated the intricacy of the designs. My two favorites were the Sautoir, comprised of sapphires and diamonds, and the Seven Wonders, emeralds and diamonds, partly because I like cabachons. I appreciate beautiful jewelry but I struggle with the thoughts of conflict diamonds, slave labor and the extravagance of it all.

Sandy’s year long journey – going from being a right-hander to left-hander, and Kelly’s parallel trip as a left-hander doing things as a right-hander.
