Sandy: Dogs favor paws and tail wagging. What?! I never observed that the wagging tail of a dog goes to the left or to the right. I just thought the tail went back and forth, left to right, right to left, evenly. But I read that when dogs wag their tails to the right, they are relaxed or they see something they want to approach. If agitated or when they are confronted with something and want to back away, the tail wags to the left.
My daughter’s dog, Gia, is pretty consistent about lifting her left paw to shake hands. Once in awhile if I am making repetitive requests, she regains her balance and gives me her right paw then switches back to her left paw.
Sandy’s year long journey – going from being a right-hander to left-hander, and Kelly’s parallel trip as a left-hander doing things as a right-hander.
