Sandy: Since the first time I drank alcohol, I’ve had an allergic reaction. I become really attractive but in a different way other people think they become more attractive when they drink. My skin turns red from the top of my head and down, throughout my torso. My nasal passages become inflamed and I can’t breath very well and my heart rate increases tremendously. Not a wonder why I rarely drink wine or cocktails. Although I discovered in college that I wasn’t consistently effected by tequila in that way and acquired a fondness for shooting or sipping it. But wait! Problem solved. A few years ago I was introduced to Famoditine which is an ingredient in antacids. Famotidine is in a class of drugs called histamine receptor antagonists which decreases the amount of acid the stomach produces. It won’t solve two problems at the same time though. Drinking alcohol if you take Famotidine will greatly affect and worsen stomach acid conditions, if you have them. Luckily I don’t, and if I do, I drink a couple of ounces of aloe vera juice.
