Day 264 : jazz

264jazz

Sandy: We spent most of the day at the Monterey Jazz Festival (a gift from our eldest). What a treat! The afternoon started with lively, upbeat, solid jazz by Smith Dobson V and Prez Kids and our evening ended with Ravi Coltrane Quartet. In between those artists we were in the audience for The Relatives, Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet, and the silky music of George Benson. Even when we were strolling down the walkways, music from different venues would spillover for everyone to enjoy. The weather was perfectly sunny and warm, a surprise after leaving behind a downpour in Marin that lasted through the East Bay drive.

Sandy’s year long journey – going from being a right-hander to left-hander, and Kelly’s parallel trip as a left-hander doing things as a right-hander.
