Sandy: I had acupuncture today because I’ve had a little ache in my right deltoid. Since icing, Ibuprofen and Aleve haven’t helped, I decided to try an alternative treatment. Having had a rotator cuff injury before, I could tell that’s not the problem. The pain is a dull ache and the muscle kind of feels like a trigger point needs to be released when I push on the sensitive spot but it won’t release. Six needles were placed in my right shoulder, one in my forearm, one in my hand, one in my shin, one in my right ear, two in my left ear. I could feel the muscles in my arm tighten around the needles as though I were clenching my fist. I’m hopeful. Would be awfully cool if a few sessions is all it takes and nothing more dramatic or invasive.
