Sandy: In a conversation with friends recently, I said that I wish there was a layman’s way to measure brain improvement (memory, expansion, growth) because I’d like positive reinforcement or more noticeable feedback for the things I’m doing using my left hand. How can I really measure if I remember something that I wouldn’t have remembered 3 months ago? Yesterday I remembered one out of two names within 3 minutes of having a conversation after being introduced. That was an improvement. A lot of times I forget names if I jump right into a conversation which doesn’t allow me enough time to absorb their names. Today I remembered the names of my tennis opponents. I felt proud that I didn’t have to ask them to repeat their names 5 minutes after they told me. So maybe this is start to how I keep track – first by tallying the names I remember of people I meet.
