Sandy: Louise has evolved into a family name. My mother-in-law, Louise, has a niece named after her. It was my mom’s best friend’s name so Mom used it as a middle name for my older sister. My husband and I also used Louise as a middle name for one our daughters.
My mother-in-law was vivacious and effervescent, sometimes unconventional and other times conservative. She loved a good adventure. With four sons in tow, she rarely considered anything impossible, whether it was riding horses at a dude ranch, skiing down a black diamond run or traveling around Europe. She had a zest for life which ended too early by Alzheimer’s disease.
I lettered her name in Scriptina, one of my favorite fonts. It’s elegant with a little sass. That was my mother-in-law.
Sandy’s year long journey – going from being a right-hander to left-hander, and Kelly’s parallel trip as a left-hander doing things as a right-hander.
