Day 125 : a-sketch

125pressure

Sandy: I’m experimenting with the angle at which I hold a pencil and the pressure I apply so I can draw better. Since we do our drawings in a notepad, I’m always worried about indenting the paper if I press too hard because I don’t want to make indentations in the art underneath. Today I could draw a straight line better than ever whether it was with light or heavy pressure, or with just my fingers moving the pencil or suspending my hand and using my arm to make the movement instead of my fingers. But when I drew quickly, my lines and circles looked out of control. Making sketch marks which I would use for shading were more even when I moved only my fingers. Results of my methods look like I draw like a human Etch-A-Sketch.

Sandy’s year long journey – going from being a right-hander to left-hander, and Kelly’s parallel trip as a left-hander doing things as a right-hander.
